PETER HUANG
CLINICAL COUNSELLOR
B. (PSYCH), M. COUN
From a young age, Peter has had a genuine heart for people supporting them to grow, overcome challenges, and become who they are meant to be. He understands the complexity and messiness of life, and believes that even in difficult circumstances, there is always strength, hope, and meaning to be found.
Peter’s approach to counselling is to walk alongside you. He creates a safe and supportive space to process what’s happening in your life, celebrate progress, grieve losses, rediscover your identity, and work toward meaningful behavioural change, uncovering growth and resilience along the way.
He practises from a trauma-informed, attachment-based, and recovery-focused framework, taking a holistic approach to mental health care. Peter works extensively with alcohol and other drug addiction, anxiety, depression, PTSD and trauma, grief counselling, couples therapy, suicide prevention, and addressing maladaptive emotional patterns, thoughts, and behaviours.
Peter completed a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology major) at the University of Western Sydney and a Master of Counselling at Excelsia College.
Outside of work, Peter enjoys hiking, paddle boarding, playing badminton, and sharing good food with friends and family.
